| I am so sad.. I left Hamilton on 28April at 2010 and reached Storrs on 29April at 1310. Yes, is a 17hours tiring ride. I am really tiring now. Thanks Melisse standing in the rain waiting for me as there's no shelter nearby. Then after unloading all my stuff in her room, we went to the canteen to have our lunch. It's buffet style here. I can imagine that I will gain few more KG before i leave here again. Then now, I am in the student lounge blogging but she is mugging for her exams. So kelian lol.. Then at 6pm, we will be meeting some friends for dinner. See, I have been eating and eating non-stop. Well, I shall blog about my trip to Storrs. There's a few transfer on the way here. Luckily, I am not as 'sway' as the previous time. I did not miss any bus this time. In fact, I was early this time round. I was supposed to reach NYC at 615 am but end up, I reached at 550am. Maybe I am already aware that I should not laugh at Melisse. Whenever I laugh at her over something, I will get the same punishment. For eg, laughing at her having fire drill in the middle of the night, end up I got it more than her. Then lucky the custom procedure was faster than the previous time. This funny officer was quite humourous: He: Did you bring any food? Me: Ya, biscute He: Is ok, did you bring in any fruits and vegetables. Me: No and no alcohol too. He: Then did you bring drugs? Me: No lah.. He: hahhaa... When I left Hamilton, it was quite cold. So end up I did not throw away my winter clothes. However, I threw my winter boots, blanket, bedsheet and my pillow. I still don't understand why after throwing so many things, I still do not have enough space for my stuff. On top of that, I still shipped 10kg of stuff back home. The shipping cost here is so expensive. :( After I get use of my life in McMaster, I noticed it was time for me to leave. It's really 'bu she de'. Honestly, I really miss my room & my resident & of course some people whom I get to know in Hamilton. Well, of course there's some people who I really dislike too. For instant, people who hate being friends with exchange students, people who is so 'gian beng', people who is impolite and etc. Luckily, most people I met are really nice. Whenever people ask me where I am from, I will get a few similar replies: 1) Singapore is a clean & nice country 2) You all know how to speak English? 3) Is it part of China? 4) Do you like Canada? Actually, Hamilton is not a 'dirty' country with lot of litters around. In fact, people here are more environmental friendly than in Singapore. Almost in every corner of the school building, you can find a waste dustbin & recycling bins. When people ask me what I like about Canada, I will always tell them, I like the people and the style here. People here are friendly & helpful and the style here is relaxing and happy go lucky kind. For school works wise, the exams are much lower percentage than NUS. However, the workload for all the modules are really very heavy. Well, enough of Hamilton. I don't know if I still got a chance to go back anot as there's no tourist attractions here and the bigges mall is even smaller than Vivo. However, if I do have a chance to come back again, I will definitely visit Christine & Lindsay. Honestly, they are the 2 most people I like hanging out with after I reached here. They are really helpful. From them, I learn something. Not everybody who help you will want a return from you. They really treat you well for no return. Today is daddy's Birthday. Well, 2 weeks ago, I mailed a card to dad and also 1 to devil. Devil receive it last week but daddy did not received it. After that then i remember why is it so. For the postal code, I only put S650403 for dad's card but for Devil, I put Singapore. Saddd...I think dad will never receive my card le.. Well, I shall end here now, I am really tired. Anyway, I am having my holiday now. So I will try to enjoy before I go back to Singapore. | | |
| I am so happy, I am left with 2 more paper and it will be the end of my semester here. Well, honestly, feel a bit "yi yi bu she". After a few months I reached here, I then start to appreciate the coziness in my room. I eat in my room, watch online drama in my room, study in my room, chat in my room, do homework in my room and etc. Although my room seems to be quite small but I think I manage to keep it quite neat and clean. Haha.. The case related to the guy who I had blogged in my previous entry was more or less settled. Why I say more or less settled? Well, here comes the story… Almost every time when he sees me online, he will click on me and ask the same thing. He: Hey, u send it le ma? (I will continue not to reply as this is not the first time he asked me) Then he goes again: U there? Me: I never receive n I am busy right now (Then this time round, I got so pissed off so I told him) Me: since u dun trust me I also dun think I want to send it to you. You want u cum and take when I’m still here if not I’ll just leave it here when I leave. (Then I think he got kanjiong liao so he quickly explain saying he never don’t trust me & all sort of rubbish.) Then the most exciting part is, he claimed he retransferred me AGAIN. To me, a normal person will check with POSB and ask them what the hell is going on right? Yeah, he is not a normal person. Therefore, he ‘retransfers’ me the money. After he transferred, he quickly print-screen and show me the transaction done page. If he wants to prove he is innocent, why don’t he print screen the transactions page where all the transactions will appear, showing that he had transferred me the money the previous time right? But anyway, this time I got it and I mail him his TOILETRIES the following day. I also print screen my transaction page to show him that I only receive his money ONCE but he refused to accept the file. He keep claiming that he trust me but I think he knew that he did not even transferred to me in the first place so there’s no point to accept my file. Then I told him that, after I mailed you your TOILETRIES, I am not going to get involved anymore even if you never receive it. I will just show you the receipt that I had mailed it to you and he agreed. However, I don’t know if he meant what he said. Just hope his stuff won’t get lost if not I think I am in dead trouble again. The funniest part that he told me few days ago was, he say he is going back to Singapore on 21 April. So I replied him, that’s early. Then he say, I going back to celebrate my birthday and coming back for my exams. I was like, you sound as if you are those BIG shot, need to go back Singapore to celebrate with your love ones. Well, anyway I don’t care as I am not going to be the one helping you to celebrate too. Lol. Well, enough of him. Last Friday, 4th April, between 330-4am, they fire alarm rang and me & my roommates was taking our own sweet time discussing what had happen. Then after awhile, our CA knocked on our door and told us to gather at the foyer. Then at that point of time, I was wearing my shorts. So I decided just to get my coat and gather downstairs. Just before I stepped out of the doorsteps, one of my roommates stopped me. She say, is very cold, go wear your jeans. Luckily, she warned me if not I think I am going to freeze to death. It’s really cold when I reached the foyer. Even though I am with my coat and jeans on, I was still jumping up & down. Then I saw some guys half-naked. Super kelian right? Yeah, they were also jumping up & down too. Then the CA told all of us to wait at another holding area where heater is provided. Then around 1 hour later, we were then allowed to go back to our room and sleep.  This is what some 'KIDS' had done using fire crackers to cause the 1st fire alarm to rang. Then I encountered 2nd fire alarm last Tuesday. I remembered I was talking online with Peijun at around 1 am and suddenly the alarm rang. Then this time, I become smarter, I wear proper attire before I gathered at the foyer. This time, I did not see half-naked guy anymore. I think they learn from their mistakes. This time, the fire was just 4-6metres away from my unit. Then me and my roommates ‘kanjiongly’ ran down to the foyer. After we reached the foyer, we then noticed that, we forgot to switch off our laptop and etc. Then my Korean’s roommate me a question: Her: Jane, did you bring your passport? Me: No, I can’t go back Singapore Her: Me too. Me: I also never bring out any cash. I only have my keys and my student card which I put them together. Her: Haha, I got my credit card as I put them together with my keys. Me: But you still cannot go back to Korea coz you got no passport. (I can’t imagine that we were cracking jokes in the middle of the night) Then again roommate says: I brought my camera down as this is my new camera but I forgot to bring my teddy bear. Me: haha, don’t worry. Your teddy bear will still be alive. The firemen are here, our room will be safe. The reason why this time we super ‘kanjiong’ is because the fire was just right outside our unit. But luckily, everything was fine. I think the firemen hate us as they have to come twice within a few days. I don’t know will there be a 3rd time. I hope not, as most of us are having exams right now.

Fire engine came shortly. My past 2 exams were quite difficult but I think I can get at least a pass. Yesterday, I slept at 2++ in the morning after studying my notes and woke up 530am to continue. Lol. I am left with 2 more exams and I am so happy. Today, after my paper, I saw one of my classmates and we started chatting. After knowing that I going downtown to buy some stuff, he offers to drive me there. While on the way there, we suddenly decided to have lunch together so he brought me to a new Japanese buffet restaurant. The food there was not bad and I really love the fried banana and soft shell crab maki.

Initially, I thought I will just go get a birthday card for my dad and go back home to sleep as I hate shopping alone. Out to my surprise, I don’t know why, I start going into individual stores and shop. At one of the stores, I saw something I wanted. Then at that point of time, I then remember that I forgot to bring enough cash out today. I am so careless right? However, I did not stop looking around. I continue browsing for stuffs I wanted and decided to go back tomorrow to get it lol.

| It’s April, is time for me to flip the calendar make by my poly buddies and this month, it’s Yee Man. Lol.. Well, only they know what I am talking about lol. Time passes really fast especially when you are enjoying. How I wish I can enjoy more and suffer lesser!! Last last week, 20 March, I get to meet Ms Koh & her student Ximei at Montreal. I took an 8hours bus ride alone. Initially, I was afraid that I would miss my bus and etc. But luckily, I did not and everything was fine. We stayed 4 nights at Ximei’s house which helps us save a lot on the accommodation. Thanks for the hospitality.

In Ottawa You know what happen? Something happen which I would never expect it to happen at all. JB saw me at a junction in Montreal and he shouted my name, Jane. I was so surprise when I heard someone shouting my name at a city where I am unfamiliar with. As 3 of us were in a rush, so I never get to talk to him much. Then after we arrived at a Korean restaurant, I told them how I get to know JB and those little small “details”. Then suddenly Ms Koh started laughing and telling me this is fate. Oh no, I will never want this to happen again, never ever. Montreal was a nice place to go but the people there speaks French and I know none. On the 2nd day, we took a 4 hours bus ride to Ottawa and had a 1 day tour there. It was fun. Then Monday morning, Ms Koh accompany me back to my school. Lol. Feel so paiseh coz after we reached my school, we went to have our dinner then she stay in my room while I went to have project meeting till like 12mn before I go back to my room. Then Tuesday, more worse, I attend my class from early morning 10am to evening, leaving her alone. But Wednesday was good, we went out together. We went shopping, dining, chatting and etc. It was so fun. As what I had mentioned earlier, good times seem to pass very fast. Ms Koh will be leaving to Vancouver in the morning while I will be leaving to NYC in the evening. Lol..

Dinner with Ms Koh The ride to NYC was tiring. Then something bad happen. I need to take a bus from Hamilton which leave at 810pm to Niagara Fall and at Niagara fall, I need to change another bus to Buffalo. However, the bus was delayed and only leave Hamilton at 830pm and we were late when we reached Niagara Falls terminal. The last bus had left. Simply not our fault. Lucky, I am not the only one coz happen to have other 2 girls heading to NYC too and the happen to be my room mate’s classmates. Lol. Then the person in-charge in Niagara Falls terminal is so kind, he told the bus which left already to wait for us while the 3 of us took a cab to board the bus and everything was paid by them. When we board the bus, I saw 3 passengers inside the bus and they seemed to be unhappy. When we reached Buffalo, we missed our bus. However, it’s not the last bus. Therefore, we could still catch the next one which is 2 hours away. Then 1 guy, who was on the bus waiting for us, I heard him talking to someone on the phone: “I am still at Buffalo, some assholes make all of us to wait for them. They are so irresponsible.” I did not eavesdrop, he was sitting right beside me and I believe that he knew that I am one of the so called asshole who he’s referring to. He purposely says so loud so he wants the 3 of us to hear it. I feel like telling him, you idiot old man, we are not assholes and we are not irresponsible. I feel like asking him to see the mirror as he look more like an asshole. The ride from Buffalo to New York was alright. I manage to get 2 seats and slept along the way. Once I reached New York, I called Melisse. I am so happy to see her again. We went to deposit my luggage then we went to Factory Outlet. I love shopping. Some of the things there are cheap but not everything. We don’t have enough time in Factory Outlet, never get to go in every shops. Then after that, we went back to NYC and went to buy Krispy Kreme, recommended by a lot people that these donuts are the best and I love it too.

Recently, I got so pissed off with someone. He is the most irritated guy who I ever met. He caused me so much trouble and end up saying me “caim” (in hokkien – stingy) WTF. Honestly, I don’t trust him as he LOVES to lie. So why should I trust him and do what he ask me to do rite? He want me to mail him his stuffs (toiletries containing toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, a pair of scissor and shaver-not electric type) which he left at my place when he came the previous time. So I told him to transfer me the money before I mail him the toiletries as mailing here is so expensive. Then he gave me lots of reasons and excuses before he could transfer me the money. Till today, he then transfers the money to my POSB account. However, when I went in to check, it wasn’t inside. Then he insisted that he had transferred and asks me to print screen for him. Well, I am innocent so I print screen and show him. However, before I could ask him to print screen for me to see that he had already transferred, he told me that he is in school lab, he don't how to print screen to show me. Then after that, he also say it's so troublesome to transfer and etc. I feel like slapping him, he make me queue up at the post office twice to ask for the price and I have to go in to check my account balance and etc. Who is more troublesome? Then after that he asks me to help him bring back to Singapore. Hey, please la, my luggage is full already la and so many things I also can’t put into my luggage, where got space to put your stuff? Then again, he says I “caim”. 1 moment he say he can use his credit card to pay for the mailing and ask me to go post office to ask the person whether is it possible I just gave them his credit card details (where got so dumb right?) Next, he say he will transfer to US account so I gave him my friend's one but end up he also did not transfer. Next, he agree to transfer to my POSB account and lastly, he want me to bring back to Singapore for him. Which one should I believe? DUMB!! | | |
| I know it's time to update. If not, I won't have time to do so. :) Last few days, I was really tired & busy. I don't know why everything was cramped in the same week, I got project meetings, assignment to do and etc which happen in the same week. I collect a case study last Friday and it need to be handed in the following Monday. The case is 22 pages long with topic which I am not interested in (IT-super boring topic) and I need to write 6 pages of report on it. I hate writing reports with my standard of English. L Then start mugging on Friday evening but nothing much was done. So end up I took the whole Saturday to do my 6 pages report. I even met Leonard in the library at late noon to do that STUPID report. To my surprise, I saw a lot of students mugging for their exams and that reading area which is at the 2nd level of the library, closed at 2am. I don’t think NUS library will close as late as 2am even if its not exam period. Okay, then I starts mugging on my report till 8pm then went for dinner and start mugging on the report till like 4am before I complete it Then play mahjong online with my girls till nearly 6am before I go to bed. I don’t know what happen to me yesterday, I think I got migraine. The severe headache was confined to one side of the head and I even vomit after I took my medicine. I think maybe it was cause by the change of the weather. Recently, it rains almost everyday. Can you imagine, it was snowing last week and it start raining this week. but anyway, it's also good, i want to experience how it is like when the weather change. I start to see green patches of grass in school compound.

Snow storm.. Okay, go back to my routine, end up, I skipped 2 classes and 1 project meeting. Luckily, I send my project mates my research before the meeting. If not I don’t know what will happen as I feel that one of the girls in my group DON’T like exchange students. Maybe she thinks that we only come here to play and won’t commit in project. I am going to prove you wrong!!! Well, then I went to school at 1.30pm for a project meeting, follow by a test from 230pm to 430pm then went for another project meeting from 430pm to 6pm. Sad to say, this is not the end of my day. From 6-630pm, I mugged on my project report and then went for the last class of the day from 6.30-8.30pm. I hate my Tuesday. When I got back to my room, I took my shower and start on my project again. 1 report writing on financial risk, PowerPoint slides for my International Business and Business Strategy modules has to be complete latest by Wednesday. Today, initially was my free day but ended up, I woke up at around 8.45am despite sleeping so late last night. I went for a make-up IB class at 930am as I won’t be able to attend tomorrow. Then after that, went for a project meeting and went for a make-up class which I missed yesterday. After lesson, I went to the housing department beside my resident to apply for an extension of room nights after exams. If not, I have to leave on 24 April, 5pm. I would like to extend till 28 April, 5pm so that I can do some shopping around here as I know I won’t be coming back here again. When I reached the housing department, they told me that they won’t handle this, they ask me to go to the main housing department which is located at the other end of the school. Therefore, I walked there and ask. Then they told me to print out a form and also my e-ticket showing when I will be leaving here and they added that I could pass it to the housing department located near my resident. However, I still don’ trust the housing department people near my resident as they told me different thing. So I went to the student centre to print it and bring back to the main housing department then walk back to my resident which is at the other end of the school. I hate walking here and there as the floor was wet since it has been raining since morning. After I came back, I vacuum my room, tidy my room as Ms Koh will be staying over next Monday and leaving on Thursday morning to Vancouver while I will be leaving in the evening after class to NYC to meet Mel. I already started packing 1 of my luggage as I will be bringing over to NYC. However, it’s already full. I don’t know what I can do with the left over stuff after my exams. What happen if I can’t squeeze everything into my luggage? Then after i settle everyhing, i cook my dinner- Pasta. I think it wasn't that bad. lol. 
It's edible- I think I can cook!! Tomorrow, after my first lesson, I will take a bus, follow by a train to Toronto. From there, I will take an 8hrs bus ride to Montreal to meet Ms Koh and Ximei. Yes, I am going to spend my Easter Day in Montreal. I feel so happy despite the workload that I am having now. I die die must finish my financial report and strategy PowerPoint by today as I need both of them on Monday. On Monday, we will leave Montreal at 7am, reaching Toronto at around 2pm. Then from there, I have to plan our time again as I need to be back in school by 9pm for a project meeting. Goosh, please help me. I will be having a presentation on Tuesday and I know on the same day, I need to complete 2 assignments as it must be handed in on Thursday. I need to complete everything on Tuesday as I will be traveling on Wednesday with Ms Koh. HappyJ Some random Photos

| Many people ask me how I spend my reading week? By right, I should have told them that I have been mugging for my 2 tests. But end up, I told them, I try so hard to study and finish my projects by Thursday and I left for Toronto on Friday, early in the morning 530am to meet Melisse. It's the first time I woke up so early lol. But everything worth the price. Lol.. When I reached Toronto, we went to have our breakfast at the nearest shopping mall. At the same time, waiting for Jasper to meet us. Then after that, it's shopping time and we also walk near the downtown area which includes a park. Then around noon, went to meet Jayne at Chinatown for some Chinese food. Then don't really remember what we did. Basically, we have been walking the whole day. Places we had visited is basically the whole of downtown. I had walked along the longest street in Canada(Younge Street). We went to see the CN tower (from the bottom of CN Tower) & University of Toronto. After that, we went to have our dinner at a Korean Restaurant. The food there was fantastic. I really love it. After dinner, we walked to Panorama (51 storey high). It's a place for us to sit down and have a drink, most importantly it's also a place to view Canada. lol. After these, we walked to the nearest Subway and took subway back to Jasper's place. It's a long day and my foot hurts. Second day, woke up early in the morning, went to the nearest mall (YorkDale) to shop. 2nd biggest mall in Toronto. After that, we went to a beach. It's really fun. 3 of us were playing with snow. I believe people who saw us that day might think the 3 of us are CRAZY. However, we aren't. Lol. We went to a coffee house nearby to have a hot coffee. Never could I imagine that 3 of us are sitting near a beach, having hot coffee together. After the cup of hot coffee, we went to see sunset and went back to downtown for our buffet dinner at a Korean Restaurant. It's time to say good bye to Jasper as me & Melisse went back to Hamilton after the dinner. Sad. Third day, after we woke up, we went to Hamilton Downtown for Japanese Buffet and proceed with shopping again. I hate the shopping here. They close at 5pm. That's too early rite? We went to a supermarket while on the way back to my place as we decided to cook maggie for our dinner. Tiring day. Last day, I went to school as usual. But I skipped my first lesson. Too lazy to get out of my bed. Then after my lesson, went to shop at Downtown and it's time for Melisse to go back after shopping. It's so sad. I miss you girl!!! After that, I rushed back to study for my test. Stupid test. I hate this module. I hate the lecturer too. Simply just hate this particular module. But I like my group mates for this module. Well, I took back one of my test paper which I had before my reading week I pass my test. Lol. I am not the lowest BUT I am not the highest too lol. I know I am saying rubbish now. Shall end here. I will try to upload more pictures.
